Dale Edward Gordon

Dale Edward Gordon, age 77, of Boonville passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at Boone Hospital.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at Howard Funeral Home, with a Funeral Service to be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at the funeral home. Interment will be following the service at Walnut Grove Cemetery.

Dale was born on June 18, 1946, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Edward and Maxine (Brown) Gordon. He married Roz (Roseanne) Rybak in Kimball, South Dakota on November 30, 1974.

Dale graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School. He began his college career at the University of Kansas. He then joined the United States Air Force in which he served as an air traffic controller for 6 years. He is a veteran of the Vietnam War.

When he left the service, he became an Air Traffic Controller in the private sector. His family began Gordon Jewelers in 1946. In 1983, Dale and Roz became the second-generation owners of Gordon Jewelers in Boonville.

Dale is an Eagle Scout and spent many years as a troop leader in Boonville where both his sons became Eagle Scouts. He enjoyed golfing, hunting and was an avid historian. But the two most loved things in his life were his family and his business. Dale loved “The Shop” and fondly remodeled both the old and new Gordon Jewelers locations.

Dale is preceded in death by parents, Edward and Maxine Gordon.

He is survived by his wife, Roz Gordon of Boonville; his children: Jonathan Gordon (Melissa) of London, England, Katherine Weymouth (Thomas) of Overland Park, Mark Gordon (Sheila) Gordon of Overland Park; sister, Jennifer Terrell (Jack) of Boonville; grandchildren: Max and Ivy Weymouth, and Gabrielle Gordon.
