Anna Eichelberger Obituary

Anna Geraldine “Gerrie” Eichelberger, 90, of Boonville, MO passed away Sunday morning February 17, 2019 at Katy Manor Nursing Home in Pilot Grove, MO, surrounded by her family.

Visitation for Gerrie will be 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, February 21 at Howard Funeral Home with the Rosary at 4:30 p.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Friday, February 22 at S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Boonville with Fr. Bill Peckman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Anna Geraldine Eichelberger was born April 8, 1928 in Boonville, the daughter of Francis Morris Schuster and Mary Margaret Stoecklein Schuster.  She graduated from S.S. Peter and Paul High School in 1946. Following high school, Gerrie worked at the Boonville shoe factory for seven years.   She married Bernard Hoke Eichelberger Sr., on September 5, 1953 at S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Boonville, MO.  They were members of St. Martin’s Parish near Pilot Grove and later joined S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Gerrie was a member of the Altar Society.   She served as co-chair for several church dinners and events.  In 1979, Gerrie and Bernard took a group of friends and youth to see Pope John Paul II in Des Moines, Iowa.

Gerrie loved to cook for her family and if you went away hungry, it was your own fault. As many may know, she never forgot a birthday and would call Party Line on KWRT radio and wish family and friends a Happy Birthday. She loved to send all types of cards as a personal touch as well. Gerrie enjoyed the farm life including taking care of her garden and flowers. As a farmer’s wife, she was active in the National Farmers Organization.  Gerrie and Bernard enjoyed a good card party with their friends. Faith, family and friends were what mattered most.

Gerrie was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Margaret Schuster, husband Bernard Eichelberger, Sr., sister and brother in-law, Joan and Harold Kraus, son-in-law, Jeff Miller and grandson, Chad Miller both of Sanger, TX.

She is survived by her children:  Bernard Hoke (Christie) Eichelberger, Jr., Marvin (Tammy) Eichelberger, Ardan (Stacie) Eichelberger all of Boonville, MO, Sharon Miller of Sanger, TX, Diane (Don) Kammerich of Pilot Grove, MO, and Teresa (Larry) Hoeppner of Higginsville, MO. Also surviving are sister-in-law, Bernice Eichelberger of Boonville and aunts, Marie Jones, Patty (Lyle) Felton, and uncle, Carl Gramlich, all of Sedalia, MO. She will be missed by her grandchildren, Zach Miller, Holly (Michael) Pennington, Nicholas Miller, Robb Eichelberger, Adam (Jonna) Eichelberger, Brenton (Becca Knipp) Eichelberger, Breanna (Dustin) Reimund, Drew Kammerich, Darrin Kammerich, Hoke Hoeppner, Hank Hoeppner, Christina (Davy) Pippin, Ellie (Chris) Gibbons, Ben Eichelberger, Brooke Eichelberger, 17 great-grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to S.S. Peter and Paul Educational Foundation or St. Joseph Catholic Church of Pilot Grove.
