Donald Fry Obituary

Donald Alan “Donnie” Fry, 59, was called to his place in heaven on August 3, 2018 with his sister, Darlene at his side.

Visitation for Donnie will be 10 AM. Until Noon on Thursday, August 9 at Zion Lutheran Church in Lone Elm. Funeral services will follow at Noon with Pastor Paul Weisenborn officiating. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery.

Donnie was born on November 12, 1958 in Boonville, MO., the beloved son of Howard Fry and Marjorie King Fry. He attended Bunceton High School and graduated in 1977. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Lone Elm. Donnie as a young boy worked hard with odd jobs of hauling hay, helping his dad farm and mowing yards. Shortly after graduation he started working at McGraw Edison (Toastmaster) and remained employed for 20 years until the closure of the facility. He then formed a lawn mowing business with his dad and had many jobs for churches, schools and residential. This business continued for 20 years. He also worked part time at, Nordyne, Indeeco and C&R grocery. Donnie’s interests in life included; NASCAR racing, playing lead and rhythm guitar in a band. He also enjoyed woodworking and giving presents of his artworks to family and friends. His love for dogs was also a big part in his life. Donnie did not ever come across a stranger making many acquaintances and friends. He never failed to bring laughter to those he knew. He was also a very good jokester, and everyone so appreciated his sense of humor.

He continued throughout his life to help provide loving support to his family. All of his family and close friends always knew that Donnie was a very honest and loyal son, brother and friend. There are not sufficient words to express what a loving person he was. He mostly wore his heart on his sleeve and would help anybody out who needed it. No matter what took place in his life, his number one priority was caring, loving family and friends. Donnie had such a loving heart, the size no one could realize. He will be dearly missed by everyone who knew and will live on in the hearts of all those who were blessed by knowing him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Marjorie Fry, brother, Danny Fry, his uncle and aunt, Norman and Jannette Fry, Paternal and maternal grandparents. He is survived by his sister, Darlene Fry of the home, his nieces, Danielle (Dan) Cook, three great-nieces, Emilia, Aubrey and Klara Ann.
