Elizabeth M. Norman “Mamaw”, 90 years old of Boonville, Missouri, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family in her home January 6, 2018.
Elizabeth was born June 27, 1927 in Clear Creek, Missouri to Daniel and Frances Kraus. She married James W. Norman, Sr. of Boonville December 27, 1947, who preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her son James W. Norman, Jr. (Carol) of Boonville and two brothers Delphinus Kraus (Thelma) of Boonville, and Harold Kraus (the late “Jo Ann”) of Boonville. She is survived by her daughters Denise Gerber (Tom) of Bluffton, South Carolina and Kim Phelps (Ben) of Boonville. She is also survived by her siblings Ethel Schoen (Amandus) of Tipton, Missouri; Leo Kraus (Rosemary) of Boonville; and Rita Stone (the late Tom) of Columbia, Missouri. Elizabeth is survived by many grandchildren: Charles Gerber (Tomi) of Frontenac, Missouri; Eric Phelps (Audrey) of Boonville; Amanda Ellis (Winston) of South Korea; Sarah Herman (Jacob) of Boonville; Chris Phelps (Maria) of Columbia; Beth Rear (Michael) of Fort Knox, Kentucky; Michael Gerber (Christina) of Cedar Falls, Iowa; Jessica Moore (Michael) of Boonville, as well as 17 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Elizabeth never knew a stranger. She enjoyed her family, dancing, walking the Missouri Katy Trail and around Boonville. Elizabeth was a long-time member of Nelson Memorial United Methodist Church in Boonville where the family suggests donations be sent in her honor.
Visitation for Elizabeth “Mamaw” Norman will be Tuesday January 9, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Howard Funeral Home in Boonville. A Celebration of her Life will be held at Nelson Memorial United Methodist Church in Boonville January 10, 2018 at 10:00 a.m., followed by a graveside service at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Boonville.
