Floyd D. Maier, 69, of Boonville passed away unexpectedly Saturday morning October 20, 2018 at his home in Boonville.
Visitation for Floyd will be 5 to 7:30 P.M. Wednesday October 24 at Boonville Church of Christ, a celebration of Life will follow the visitation at 7:30 P.M. with full military honors.
Floyd Dean Maier was born January 21, 1949 in Cole County, MO., the son of Harold E. Maier and Ruby I. Chappell "Maier" McNew. He married Linda Jandt on March 3, 1979 in Prior Lake, MN. Floyd loved woodworking and could do anything with a piece of wood. He had made some pumpkins for all of his family was just getting ready to put the finishing touches on them this week. He loved to play his bass guitar. Floyd served the Cooper County Fire Protection District as a senior officer for over 23 years, earlier in his career he was involved in Cooper County Emergency Management and loved to help people with the Come Share Food Pantry. He was a faithful member of the Boonville Church of Christ. Floyd and Linda loved to travel to Minnesota anytime they could get away.
Floyd was preceded in death by his father, Harold and brother, Carl Michael “Mike”(Paula) Maier. He is survived by his wife Linda of the home, mother, Ruby of Boonville, MO., brothers, Harold “Gene” (late Opal) Maier of Boonville, Leroy Maier (Dorothy) of Leroy, KS., Donnie Maier (Kathy) of Newton, TX., Bobby Maier (Shelia) of Lake of the Ozarks, MO., sister, Elaine Simmons (David) and Glenda Crunutte both of Boonville, MO. He will be missed dearly by all the numerous nieces, nephews and friends that he has made over the years.
