Harold Edward Simmons

Harold E. Simmons, 92, of Franklin, MO passed away Friday evening March 23, 2018 at University Hospital in Columbia.

A celebration of Harold’s life will be 7 P.M. Wednesday March 28 at Howard Funeral Home, with a visitation an hour prior from 6 to 7 P.M. Burial will be Thursday at 2 P.M. in the Old Lamine Cemetery in Blackwater.

Harold Edward Simmons was born June 4, 1925 in Boonville, MO the son of Edward Simmons and Opal Gertrude Davis Simmons.  He married Mary Martha Garrison on April 27, 1957 in Boonville, MO.  Harold worked at Boben Manufacturing and the Sewlyn Shoe Company here in Boonville. He also worked at Unlimited Opportunities. Harold loved to tinker with tractors, lawnmowers and loved gardening.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mary Martha, and sister, Dorothy Bates and Mildred Wessing. He is survived by his Son, Robert Simmons and wife Joni of Boonville, MO., Daughter, Kathy Jenkins of Corsicana, TX., and brother, William Henry Simmons of Boonville, MO. He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren; Daniel McClelland of Cedar Hill, TX., Leisa McClelland of Corsicana, TX., Charles McClelland of Fort Worth, TX., Timothy Simmons of Moberly, MO., Victoria Simmons of Collinsville, IL., and Ellyssia Simmons of Boonville, MO., and his for legged friend Bambi.
