Howard (Howdy) Hein, 76, of Lincoln, MO passed away Sunday, November 25, 2018 at Boone Hospital surrounded by family after a courageous battle with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS).
Visitation for Howard will be 5 to 8 P.M. Thursday evening November 29 at Howard Funeral Home in Boonville, MO. Celebration of Howards life will be Friday November 30 at Howard Funeral Home with burial to follow with full military honors in the Bunceton Masonic Cemetery. As Howard’s wishes were to be cremated.
Howard was born March 1, 1942 in Bunceton, Mo. the son of Carl J. H. Hein and Ilda Brandes Hein. He attended Bunceton High School before entering the United States Air Force. He married Patricia Hickam on June 30, 1962 at the First Baptist Church of Boonville Mo. During his enlistment he was a B-52 Mechanic reaching the rank of Airman First Class. After his service he worked for Sears and Roebuck and Howard’s Appliance Service, and Cooper County Memorial Hospital.
Howard’s hobbies included training coon hounds, hunting, fishing, and relaxing at the Lake house with family and grandkids. His civic interests were Lions Club and City Alderman.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Ilda, brothers Farris, Virgil, and Floyd, wife Patricia, son Randall, and granddaughter Rachel. He is survived by his sons Russell (Debbie)Hein and Christopher Robin (Michelle)Hein, daughter in-law Linda Hein of Bunceton, Mo, sister Barbara Kienast of Cedar Rapids, IA, and wife Betty of Prairie Home, Mo, step children Dwain (Andrea) Brown of Holts Summit, Mo, Regina (Nathan) Gauthier, and Mary Kemna of Prairie Home, Mo. He will be dearly missed by his cousins and grandchildren.
