Jackie R. “Jack” Cooper, 77, of Boonville passed away Saturday morning March 3, 2018 at Ashley Manor Care Center in Boonville.
Visitation for Jack will be 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday, March 6, at Howard Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Wednesday, March 7 at Howard Funeral Home with Pastor Nick Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Jackie Ray Cooper was born January 17, 1941 in Gooches Mill, MO the son of Ray C. Cooper and Eunice Walters Cooper. Eunice passed away when Jack was eight years old and his step-mom, Wilma raised him. He married Karen Lee Solberg on August 5, 1961 in Sheridan, IL. Jack moved back to Boonville in 1973 and started Cooper Welding, the business is in its 45 year of operation and the success shows in all the Cooper dump trucks running up and down the road. He was a hardworking man and was appreciated by area farmers. Jack didn’t know a stranger and was known by all, you could say Jack Cooper was a legend and you knew exactly where you stood with him. He was a family man that made the time to love his family no matter how busy he was. He loved his three grandchildren and supported all the endeavors.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, step-mom, Wilma, his, wife Karen on June 29, 2016, son, Jeff and daughter, Lori Ann. He is survived by his sons, Brian (Stephanie) Cooper of Rocheport and Mark Cooper of Boonville. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Abbey and Campbell Cooper and Dylan Cooper and sister, Bobbie Ann Balke of Sedalia, MO. He will be dearly missed by his many friends, acquaintances and family.
