James M. “Jim” Dilse, 67, of Boonville passed away unexpectedly Wed. Feb. 14, 2018 at his home.
Visitation for Jim will be 3 to 5 P.M. Sunday, Feb. 18, 2018 at Howard Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 1 P.M. Monday, Feb. 19, 2017 at Howard Funeral Home with Mike Dilse officiating. Burial will follow in the Walnut Grove Cemetery with full military honors.
James Merritt Dilse was born August 16, 1950 in Boonville the son of Homer L. Dilse and Dorothy Mae Taylor Dilse. Jim graduated BHS in 1968, went in to the Navy serving on the USS Saratoga and was a proud Vietnam Veteran. Jim married Shirley Richards on March 7, 1970 in Albuquerque, NM. He was truck driver for a while and then he started his career at the Boonville Correctional Facility for over 20 years. He enjoyed his retirement to the fullest, you could find him playing golf with his buddies or grandkids and playing card at the Bowling Alley. Most of all Jim was a family man that had a special bond with each one of them.
James is preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Dorothy and sister, Cindy Montgomery. He is survived by his wife, Shirley of the home, Son, James Zack Dilse and fiancé Corielle Dewitt of Centralia, Michelle (Mike) Thompson of Boonville, Melissa Dilse of Phoenix, AZ., Brother, Mike (DeAnn) Dilse of Boonville, Sisters, Janie Fisher and Janice Hanlon both of Boonville and Elaine Wyrick of Columbia. Also surviving are his grandkids, Mikey Thompson of Fayette, Dalton Dilse of Tipton, Grayden Dilse of Centralia and Shelby Thompson of Columbia. He will be missed by his great-grandson’s Colton and Victor Thompson of Boonville.
