Jere K. Lang, 64, of Boonville passed away Thursday evening July 12, 2018 at Cooper County Memorial Hospital after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday July 17th at Howard Funeral Home from 10 am-12pm and services will be held at the funeral home immediately following with Pastor Doug Weekley officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Jere was born July 27th, 1953 in Boonville, MO the son of Harold L Lang and Martha Jean Mische. Jere graduated from Boonville High School. Jere was dedicated to the citizens of Boonville serving them for 38 years as police officer. Jere served as an SGT helping many people and rookie officers for many years. Jere married Vivian Sue Jasper on March 9th, 1991. After retiring at 62 Jere lived a life long dream of owning a motorcycle and traveling throughout Missouri. He also enjoyed the much-needed time he got to spend with his daughters and grandkids.
Jere is preceded in death by his parents and his wife. Jere is survived by three loving daughters, Heather Lang of Columbia, Holly Lang of Hallsville, and Melissa (Mark) Jenkins of Boonville, grandkids, Darian Butner, Dani Butner, Charley Ray, Natasha Jenkins, and John Jenkins. He is also survived by a long line of brothers in blue.
