Jerry D. Davis, 79, of Boonville passed away Thursday morning December 27th, 2018 at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.
Visitation for Jerry will be from 2:00pm – 4:00pm on Sunday, December 30th, at Howard Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11:00am on Monday, December 31st, at St. Johns United Church of Christ in Billingsville, MO with Rev. James Elliott officiating. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Boonville with full military honors.
Jerry Dean Davis was born January 7, 1939 in Cotton, MO, the son of Robert “Raymond” Davis and Faye Fern Draffen. Jerry graduated from Boonville High School in 1956. He married Sharon Kay Ferguson on November 3, 1962 at the First Baptist Church in Boonville. He served his country in the US Army. Jerry worked for McGraw Edison and later Toastmaster until his retirement. Jerry loved gardening, fishing and really enjoyed the several fishing trips he was able to make to Canada with family and friends. He was a family man who enjoyed spending time with his wife, daughters and his identical twin Jack. Jerry lived for spending time with and spoiling his grandkids and great-grandkids. Jerry was always known for helping family, friends and neighbors. He never met a stranger and was loved by all.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Faye, brothers, Richard “Dickie” and Jack Davis, sisters, June Petree and Joy Volrath, Grandson-in-law, Kyle Lloyd and nephews, Brad Davis and Steve Kenney. He is survived by his wife Sharon of the home, daughters, Linda (Terry) Schler and Susan Wyatt both of Boonville, MO. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Jessica Wyatt, Layton Wyatt, Cayley Schler (Andrew Inskeep) and Noel Schler (Zack Bradley) and his great-grandchildren, Abby Lloyd, Brynn Lloyd and Braxten Inskeep. He was also survived by several nieces and nephews.
