John G. Litteken, 94, of Boonville passed away Sunday morning Feb. 18, 2018 at Katy Manor Nursing Home in Pilot Grove, MO.
Visitation for John will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thurs. Feb. 22 at Howard Funeral Home with a Rosary being recited at 5:45 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be 1:00 p.m. Fri. Feb. 23 at S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Fr. Bill Peckman officiating. Burial will follow in Clear Creek Cemetery in Pilot Grove with full military honors.
John Glennon Litteken was born August 24, 1923 in Florissant, Mo the son of John W. Litteken and Clara Weber Litteken. He was married to Loretta Twenter for 52 years until her passing in 1998. He later married Mary Taylor in the fall of 2000. John proudly served his country as a Marine. He managed Davisdale Farms and the Interstate Marine Terminal until his retirement. John never knew a stranger, he loved to tell stories and play cards. He was a member of S.S. Peter Paul Catholic Church and served on the Boonville School Board.
John is preceded in death by his parents, John and Clara, wives, Loretta and Mary. He is survived by his sons, Dan (Carolyn) Litteken of Taylorville, IL., Ted Litteken of Neosho, MO., Tim (Gay) Litteken of Columbia, MO., daughter, Juliana Litteken of Lee’s Summit, MO., and his step-children, Richard Taylor, Deborah Bader and Diane Elbert. He also leaves behind a sister, Jane Twenter of Pilot Grove, MO. John was a proud grandfather to 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 13 step grandchildren and 22 step great grandchildren.
