Joseph Lee Kempf

Joseph L. “Joe Lee” Kempf, 78, of Boonville passed away Friday morning Feb. 9, 2018 surrounded by his family at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, MO.

Visitation for Joe Lee will be 5 to 7 P.M. Monday evening Feb. 12 at S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 A.M. Tues. Feb. 13 at S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Fr. Bill Peckman officiating. Inurnment will follow in Clear Creek Cemetery near Pilot Grove.

Joseph Lee Kempf was born November 28, 1939 in Clear Creek the son of Otto Kempf and Mary Twenter Kempf. He graduated Pilot Grove High School in 1957. Joe Lee married Dorothy Wessing on May 11, 1963 in Clear Creek. He was a lifelong farmer, whether it was crops, cows or horses. You could find him playing cards with his buddies, watching tractor pulls or rodeos and watching cardinal baseball in his spare time. He was a member of the Clear Creek Knights of Columbus and S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. He loved driving a school bus and racked up a lot of miles taking kids to football and softball games. Joe Lee was a family man, he loved to spoil his grandkids and great-grandkids.

Joe Lee is preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Mary, brother Clem, sister Coletta, and two infant brothers. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy of the home, daughters, Lisa (Brad) Davis of Boonville, MO., Renee (Justin) Vandiver of Linn Creek, MO. and Christa (John) Fewell of Columbia, MO. Also surviving are his brothers; Harold Kempf of Boonville, MO., Estill Kempf of Florissant, MO., Jerry Ray Kempf of Boonville, Mo. and sister, Lavina Hodges of Boonville, MO and Irene Oser of New Franklin, MO. He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren, Jacob and Grant Davis, Alyssa (Garrett) Dyer, Austin Vandiver, Carson and Cara Fewell and great-grandchildren, Ava Dyer and Allistor Davis.
