Leonard Albert Gibson

Leonard Albert Gibson, 73, of Boonville, Missouri passed away Thursday, December 12, 2019 surrounded by his family at University Hospital in Columbia.

Visitation for Leonard will be Sunday, December 15, 2019 at Howard Funeral Home from 2:00-3:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life service following at 3:00 p.m. Private family inurnment will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Kaseyville, Missouri.

Leonard Albert Gibson was born November 21, 1946 the son of Lowell Gibson and Laveda Hicks Gibson. Leonard enjoyed farming and loved to fish when he was able. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Moberly, Missouri. He worked and retired from Ameren UE. Leonard also owned two businesses in Boonville, Riverside Diner and 87 Diner. He loved to be around family and enjoyed the time he had to spend with them.

Leonard is preceded in death by his parents Lowell and Laveda Gibson, and son Tim Gibson. He is survived by his son Terry (Amanda) Gibson of New Franklin, Missouri, brothers Richard (Jeannie) Hicks of Moberly, Missouri, John Robinson of Turlock, California, Lonnie Gibson of Buckner, Missouri, sister Leona Huffman of Joplin, Missouri, grandchildren Jenni Gibson, Emily Gibson, Ashley Gibson, Aislinn Himmelberg, Jasmine Himmelberg, Brooklynn Brown, Elyas Brown, great grandchildren Brent, Phoenix, and Paislee, and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Mt. Carmel Cemetery Association or the Missouri Baptist Children’s Home.
