Walter Peoples Obituary

Walter J. “Bud” Peoples, 77, of Syracuse passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.

 

Walter was cremated, and no services are planned per his wishes. Arrangements under the direction of Howard Funeral Home in Boonville.

 

Walter J. Peoples was born in rural Morgan county south of Syracuse, MO, the son of George William Peoples and Lena Matilda Combs. He married Mildred Hayworth on August 28, 1987. Walter loved tending to his cows and watching a good NASCAR race. He was an over the road truck driver all of his life. After his retirement he worked for Valley View Flagging and was still working for them until he passed away. Walter loved spending time with his family and enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

 

Walter was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Norman Peoples and sister, Lena Grace Wear. He is survived by his wife, Mildred of the home, son, Michael J. Peoples of Syracuse, MO, and his children; Austin, Dallas and Lane, son, William Clay Peoples of Syracuse, MO, daughter, Kathi (Justin) Surface of Marshall, MO, and their children; Sarah, Matthew and Rachael, daughter, Shanda (Jeff) Millsap of Otterville, MO, and their child Shelby, daughter, Linda Nichols of California, MO, and her son Trevor and Brenda (Jim) Thomas of Syracuse, MO, and their children Chris and Will. Also surviving are his 13 great-grandchildren.
