Wilbur H. Nagel, 93, of Boonville passed away Saturday morning August 4, 2018 at Ashley Manor Care Center in Boonville.
Visitation for Wilbur will be 6 to 7 P.M. Thursday evening August 9 at Howard Funeral Home. A celebration of life will follow the visitation at 7 P.M. with Pastor Luther Herman officiating.
Wilbur Henry Nagel was born July 18, 1925 in Slater, MO., the son of Arthur Nagel and Edith Harre Nagel. Wilbur served during WWII in the US Army as a corporal. He married Mattie Ellen “Davene” Blackwell on June 10, 1950. He was employed by Cooper County Road Department for many years. Wilbur loved to travel and would surprise Davene and the kids often with surprise trips. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. Most of all Wilbur was family man, that loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Wilbur was preceded on death by his parents, Arthur and Edith, brothers, Harold and Willard, sister, Frances Oser. He is survived by his daughter, Sandy Stock (Ted) of Wooldridge, MO., son, Kenneth Nagel (Kim) of Prairie Home, MO., Brother-in-law, Henry Oser and Sister-in-law, Bonnie Blackwell. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Tim Stock (Una), Barbie Clark (Jeremy), Michael Stock (Jodee), Suzanne Mathis (Jason), eight great-grandchildren and seven great-great- grandchildren.
