Ardella Kay Sells

Ardella Kay Sells, 79, of Prairie Home, passed away on Monday, August 26, 2024, at Katy Manor in Pilot Grove.

She was born on May 7, 1945, in Boonville, Missouri, the daughter of Warren and Bernice (Lohse) Brandes.

She graduated from Prairie Home High School. Ardella married Jimmy Sells on June 6, 1964.

Ardella spent over 30 years as a secretary at Ellis Fischel Cancer Hospital in Columbia.

She enjoyed reading, puzzles, spending time outdoors, and meeting with her morning “Breakfast Club” ladies on Friday mornings in Prairie Home.  She also loved attending Mizzou football and basketball games with Jimmy and her family.

Ardella is survived by her son Justin, his wife Michelle of Prairie Home; her sister Geraldine Howard of St. Joseph; grandchildren: Evann and Alyssa Sells, Brynn Sells; great granddaughter Haven Sells. She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband Jimmy Sells.

The visitation and funeral service will be held at the Prairie Home United Methodist Church. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 29, 2024, with a visitation to be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
