Arnold Edgar Obituary

Arnold Lewis Edgar of Boonville, formerly of Steelville, Missouri passed away Monday, April 3, 2023 in his home surrounded by his family.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, April 8, 2023 at First Baptist Church in Boonville at 11:00 a.m. (625 Main Street, Boonville, Mo 65233)

Arnold Lewis Edgar was born February 19, 1949 in Keysville, Missouri, the son of Floyd and Hazel (Martin) Edgar. He graduated from Cherryville High School in 1968. Arnold married the love of his life Leda Ann Weister June 10, 1972, in Ashland, Missouri. He enjoyed hunting, country music, fixing cars and most recently watching Dr. Phil.  He also loved trucks of any kind, even towards the end of his life he would ask “Is my truck still outside?” Arnold loved spending time with family and his dog Rosie, he loved to tell stories and was quite the jokester. Arnold never met a stranger and would do anything for anyone, he was a kind, caring and loving man. He will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his wife Leda Edgar, parents Floyd and Hazel (Martin) Edgar; brothers Jack Hammonds and William Craig Edgar; sisters Brenda Asher and Geraldine Pratt; infant brother and sister Lula Carol Edgar and Coel Thomas Edgar.

He is survived by children Patricia (Karl) Lueck of Boonville, MO and Michael (Jennifer) Edgar of Quartz Hill, CA; brothers Floyd “Bud” (Kathleen) Edgar of Festus, MO, Vondel Edgar of Viburnum, MO, Malcom “Mac” Edgar of Flat River, MO, Kelly (Angie) Edgar of Cherryville, MO, Ricky (Anna) Edgar of Shoal Creek, MO, Emmett Asher of Bixby, MO, Vernon “Cotton” (Lien) and Bob Pratt both of DeSoto, MO; sisters Janet Faye (Jerry) Parmley of Potosi, MO, Janice “Kay” (Lee) Parker of Vacaville, CA; grandchildren Amber Peak of Salem, MO, Patricia Edgar of Phoenix, AZ, Treyton Wehmeyer of Jefferson City, MO and Dominique Wehmeyer of Jefferson City, MO; great grandson Elijah Peak of Salem, MO; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
