Arthur “Art” Schnuck, Jr., 71 of Boonville passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, December 8, 2021, on his family farm doing what he loved.
Visitation for Art will be 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Monday, December 13, at Howard Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 14, at Pleasant Grove Immanuel Lutheran Church, with Pastor Paul Weisenborn officiating. Burial will follow in the Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Arthur Henry Schnuck, Jr., was born July 1, 1950, in Boonville, MO., the son of Arthur Henry Schnuck, Sr. and Frances Twillman Schnuck. He was confirmed at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Boonville. Art graduated from Boonville High School in 1968 and then attended Kemper Military School and College graduating on May 30, 1970, with an Associate in Arts. He attended basic training at Fort Gordon, Georgia and was assigned to the Missouri Army National Guard- 175th Military Police in Moberly, MO. He attended Northwest Missouri State University and graduated May 16, 1973 with a B.S. in Agriculture. Art returned home to farm with his parents and married Sharan A. Eichhorn on June 3, 1978.
Art was a member of the: Missouri Corn Growers, Missouri Cattlemen’s Association, and the Overton-Wooldridge Levee District. He was a founding member of the Missouri Valley Steam Engine Association, board member of the NTPA (National Tractor Pulling Association) and TPM (Tractor Pullers of Missouri). As a youth he was a member of the Boonville West 4-H Club and the Boonville FFA Chapter.
Art continued the 3rd generation diversified “Century Farm” raising corn, soybeans, wheat, pigs, and cattle with his dad. He enjoyed tractor pulling and traveled the Midwest with his tractor pulling family. Art was a successful farmer who was very dedicated to raising his four children. He enjoyed watching his kids show livestock, he taught them about agriculture by including them in the daily tasks on the family farm, and was vested in seeing the next generation becoming successful in their endeavors.
Art was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Sr., and Frances, he is survived by his wife of the home, Sharan, children, Andrea (Keith) Reuter of Pilot Grove, Arthur “Art” H. Schnuck III (Deanna Thies) of Boonville, Arthur “Henry” Schnuck IV (Beth Tuttle) of Prairie Home, and Glenda (Nick) Rosenbohm of Graham. He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren, Garrett, Keaton and Kaden Reuter, Ashlyn Schnuck, and Maddison Rosenbohm.
