Audrey LaVern (Wood) Williams, 88, of Boonville passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, MO.
Celebration of life for Audrey will be held at the First Baptist Church Thursday, January 6, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Service will begin at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Chris Greenhagen officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Audrey LaVern Wood was born September 29, 1933 north of California, MO (Moniteau County) the daughter of Norman and Nellie Marie Wood. Audrey graduated from Boonville High School in 1951. She married the love of her life Earl Williams on November 18, 1952, they celebrated 69 years of marriage this past anniversary. Audrey was a member of the First Baptist Church. She proudly served as a Deacon’s wife, a Sunday School Teacher and her pride and joy was doing a Cradle Roll. Audrey and Earl together took bibles and a single rose to the newborns in the community and hoped to get families started in the church. Audrey also enjoyed traveling, camping, working on genealogy, and going to the lake/cabin. She also loved to hand stitch and make beautiful quilts. Audrey worked at the Department of Corrections as a personal manager from 1967 until retirement on July 1, 1983. She was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
Audrey is preceded in death by her parents Norman and Nellie Marie Wood and son-in-law Gary Moll. She is survived by her husband Earl J. Williams of Boonville, sister-in-law Melva Lee McMilian of Independence MO, daughter Sharon Moll of Boonville, son Dennis (Analin) Williams of Columbia MO, granddaughter Mary (Shayne) Yenzer of North Carolina and great grandson Zakary Earl Williams Hurt of North Carolina.
