Carl Dietzel Obituary

Carl D. Dietzel, 87, of Boonville died Thursday, July 15, 2021, at Lakeview Healthcare and Rehab in Boonville.

Visitation for Carl will be at Howard Funeral Home Wednesday, July 21, 2021, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. Funeral service will begin at 5:00 p.m. Burial will be Thursday, July 22, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. in Fillmore Cemetery.

Carl Dietzel was born February 7, 1934, in Sandy Hook, MO, the son of Earl and Ruth Dietzel. Mr. Dietzel married Mary Woods and had one infant son, John, both who preceded him in death; and one surviving daughter, Frances Ann born July 11, 1964. On April 29, 1988, he married Jacquetta Mead and she survives of the home. Mr. Dietzel worked for the University Power Plant for 35 years. After he retired from the University, he drove for Oats Transportation for 15 years. He enjoyed fishing and photography, he was an excellent photographer and had the patience to make sure every picture was perfect. Carl was patient and welcoming to the people who visited in the home. He enjoyed visiting with church friends and loved serving God for many years. Carl was loved and will be dearly missed.

Carl served in the US Army for three years in Italy.

Carl is preceded in death by his parents Earl and Ruth (Wyckoff) Dietzel and sister Loretta (Arlen) McKinney. Brother-in-laws Oren Mead and Nathan Mead.  He is survived by his wife Jacquetta of Boonville and daughter Frances Dietzel of Columbia, brother-in-law Eldon Mead of St. Joseph, brothers Norman of Columbia, Donald (Gwen) of Prairie Home and sisters Barbara (Clarence) Widel of Boonville, Alice Hartsock of Boonville, two grandchildren , nine great grandchildren, and one great grandchild and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
