Catherine Held

Catherine C. Held, 88, of Boonville passed away Sunday February 9, 2020 at Katy Manor Care Center in Pilot Grove surrounded by her family.

Visitation for Catherine will be Saturday February 15, 2020 at Howard Funeral Home from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Paul Weisenborn officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Marshall.

Catherine C. Held was born December 22, 1931 the daughter of Carl Bosau and Clara Frieling. Catherine married Charles Held on April 1, 1951. She was Baptized and confirmed at the Zion Lutheran church in Lone Elm. Catherine and Charles owned their own Dry-Cleaning business in Burbank, California called Palm Cleaners. Her and Chuck enjoyed life and loved each other unconditionally. They would always enjoy going dancing with their friends at the VFW in Columbia. Catherine enjoyed her time at Katy Manor especially playing Bingo with her best friend Betty Shemwell.  She also loved her outings to get her hair and nails done. Especially when Carla Doo would come pick her up in her Jeep.  She was always so particular about her hair looking just perfect and was convinced that Jill Lang was the only one that knew how to do it just perfect. The things that everyone always enjoyed about Catherine was you always knew she was going to have Red lipstick on, and you always knew wherever she was at she would leave a peppermint wrapper trail. If you would ask Catherine if she needed anything, she would always say Yes $1000 please. Catherine always brought joy to those around her, she will be greatly missed.

Catherine is preceded in death by her husband Charles Held, parents Carl and Clara Bosau, sisters Verna Nauman, Margaret Hazlett, and Evelyn Bosau. She is survived by her brother-in-law Alfred (Darlene) Held of Boonville, Missouri, sister-in-law Ida Corley of Topeka, Kansas, sister-in-law Margie (Dale) Lacquement of the state of California, and numerous nieces and nephews.
