Catherine Marie (Wiemholt) Whitehurse

Catherine M. Whitehurse, 14 days shy of her 101st birthday passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on March 16, 2021.

Visitation for Catherine will be 10 to 11 A.M. Saturday March 20, 2021 at S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 A.M. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Catherine Marie Whitehurse was born March 30, 1920 in Martinsville, MO., the daughter of Nicholas Wiemholt and Louise Martin Wiemholt. She married Eugene Whitehurse on January 11, 1945 and they were the parents of 10 children. Catherine always put her family first and that was the most important thing. She loved her flowers and if you drove by her house on Ashley road you saw the most beautiful flower gardens. She was a devout Catholic and a lifelong member of S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. After raising her 10 children she worked at the Homestead Motel and Colonial Gardens Nursing Home until her retirement.

Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas and Louise, husband, Eugene, sons’, Benny, Mark and Eugene, Jr., daughter, Phyllis Monroe, brothers, Martin and Edward Wiemholt and sisters, Rose Gramlich, Bernadine Windsor and Mildred Gramlich. She is survived by her son, Gary (Connie) Whitehurse of Boonville, daughters, Linda (Virgil) Brengarth of Wooldridge, Gayle Whitehurse of Olathe, KS., Patty (Dean) Clayton of Boonville, Teresa (Pete) Rhoades of Boonville, Anita (Mike) Flippin of Versailles, and Betty Pfeiffer (AKA 7th daughter). Also surviving are her grandchildren, Katy, Nathan, Sarah, Sam, Jacob, Michelle, Jason, Jenny, Shelly, Shannon, and Mike Jr. and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery.
