Charles Vernon Hammers

Charles Vernon Hammers, 83, of Boonville passed away Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.

Visitation for Charles will be held at Howard Funeral Home Saturday, February 17, 2024, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Celebration of life will begin at 11:00 a.m.

Charles Vernon Hammers was born July 7, 1940, the son of Charles Ivan and Lucille (Fredrick) Hammers. Charles married the love of his life Patty Ann Waibel October 18, 1959, at the First Baptist Church in Boonville. Charles was a member and served as president of the Boonville Jaycee’s as well as served on the board for Boonville Fire Department. His work allowed him to travel; he went to Clinton, MO, Princeton, IN, and West Frankford, IL putting in retail stores. Charles enjoyed traveling, fishing, and camping but loved being with his family the most. He loved celebrating all the holiday with his family and friends. He was loved dearly and will be missed.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents Ivan and Lucille Hammers and in-laws Albert and Lottie Waibel. He is survived by his wife Patty Hammers of Boonville, son Charles Jr. “Chuck” (Rachel) Hammers of New Franklin, daughters Stephine (Tom) Hein of Boonville, and Stacey (Adam) Best of Franklin. He also leaves behind grandchildren Andrew (Alyssa Martin) Hein, Caleb (Faith Mount) Hein, Brennan (Kelsey) Hammers, Remington Hammers, Bryce Hobbs, Ashton Hobbs, and Kadison Hammers and great grandchildren Knox Hein and Hattie Mae Hammers.
