Charles W. "Chuck" Kimsey

Charles W. “Chuck” Kimsey, 81, of Columbia passed away Sunday morning September 19, 2021, in Columbia following complications from pneumonia and leukemia.

A Celebration of Chuck’s Life will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday September 23, at Pisgah Baptist Church with Pastor Karen Alden officiating.

Charles Wallace Kimsey was born June 3, 1940, in Pisgah, MO., the son of Michael Kimsey and Faye Toler Kimsey. He graduated from Prairie Home High School in 1958 and then went on to serve in the U.S. Air Force from 1958 to 1962. He married Jackie Dodson on February 26, 1966, at the Rocheport Methodist Church. Charles worked the family farm in Pisgah for many years and later worked for the Department of Corrections in Jefferson City, MO. After his retirement, Chuck volunteered at the Harry S. Truman V.A. Hospital. He shared a love of music with his wife Jackie and especially loved to play Blue Grass Music. Chuck was a family man and took every opportunity to spend time with them.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Faye, brother, Dean Kimsey and granddaughter, Allison Fish. He is survived by his wife, Jackie of the home, daughters, Amy Buerky (Ulises Hernandez) of Kearney, MO., and Emily (Clayton) Fish of Rocheport, MO., brother, William (Nancy) Kimsey of Santa Barbara, CA. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Brooke (Andrew) Turley, Taylor (Maddie) Buerky, Joseph Dye, Preston Fish and great-grandchildren, Hudson, and Owen Turley.
