Charles "Chuck" Edward Acton

Charles “Chuck” Edward Acton, age 69, of Pilot Grove, Missouri, passed away on Monday, November 4, 2024, at Harry S Truman Veterans Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was born on March 1, 1955, in Columbia, Missouri, the son of Raymond and Mary (McBaine) Acton. 

Chuck attended Hickman High School. He enlisted and served his country in the United States Navy. He met Patricia Vollrath in May of 1982 and they were together for 10 years before getting married on December 4, 1992. 

He did some construction work before opening his own business, Acton’s Carpet Care.

Chuck enjoyed fishing, music, playing the drums, billiards, wood working, socializing, “hunting”, and rough housing with the grandchildren. He also loved spending time with his family and eating fried chicken.

Chuck leaves behind his wife Patricia Vollrath of the home; sons Matthew (Cynthia) Acton of Boonville, Taylor (Heather) Acton of Blackwater; grandchildren: Heaven Mustion, Byron Acton, Harrison Acton, Wyatt Acton, Tucker Acton; siblings Randy (Diane) Acton of Ashland, and Rhonda Acton of Hallsville; and beloved dog, Kelce.

He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Mary Acton; brother Mitchell Acton, Sr. and (infant sister) Rebecca Acton. 

Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 11, 2024, at Santa Fe Trail Baptist Church in Boonville, with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow at St. Martin’s Cemetery in Pilot Grove. 

After the burial, everyone is invited back to the church to share “vittles”, as Chuck referred to them, or a meal. 

Memorials may be made to the Santa Fe Trail Baptist Church.
