Christian David Sims

Christian David Sims, 22, of Boonville passed away Saturday, July 24, 2021, at University Hospital in Columbia surrounded by family.

A Celebration of Life will be at Eagles Lodge on Sunday, August 8, 2021 at 2:00 PM.

A perfectly beautiful child in every way, Christian David Sims was born April 22, 1999, the son of David Sims and Paula (Richey) Sims. To know him was to love him.  He had a fight in him like no other as his Maker had different plans for him, but no matter, often times came through with a smile.  Christian loved being around others.  He loved any kind of music and especially being an Honorary Chamber Choir Member at the Boonville High School; he graduated from Boonville High School in May 2017.  He loved attending any kind of parade and hearing the marching bands or listening to the sirens of the emergency vehicles brought a huge smile to his face.  Christian always laughed when people clapped, it was the simple things in life that made him happy.  He loved big and bright balloons swaying in front of him.  Christian loved sitting by the stained-glass windows at church when the sun was coming through, he loved the bright colors.  We hope that with the donation of his eyes/corneas through Saving Sight that someone else may see life as beautiful as he did.    

Christian was a Children’s Miracle Network child who helped raise money for items the children’s hospital needed so no other child would do without; he was once a Change Bandit to help raise money.

Throughout his life, he was able to do many things with the love and help of others.  He was able to play baseball, he was gifted by a Veteran into the Marine Corps where his nickname was “Wheels”.  He enjoyed watching the Cardinals and Chiefs play ball with his dad.  He loved going on field trips with his mom and nurse Stephanie and he even laughed at their singing.  Christian had so many friends and family and will be missed dearly.  Christian lived life to the fullest

Christian is preceded in death by his grandparents Richard and Beverly Sims and Donna Anderson. He is survived by his parents Paula (Arnie Santos) Sims of Boonville, David (Lisa Koch) Sims of Boonville, Grandparents Bill and Glenda Richey, Ron Anderson, Rudy and Peggy Koch, Uncles Bill (Mike Anglada) Richey, Ronnie (Stormy) Anderson, Kevin (Naomi) Anderson, Mike Anderson, and Erin (Vonda) Sims, and numerous cousins and friends. He is also survived by his private duty nursing care team Stephanie Lee, Angela Hazlett, Janell Suchanek who loved him dearly.
