David Wayne Purdy

David Wayne Purdy, 85, of Pilot Grove passed away in his home Sunday, May 8, 2022, surrounded by his family.

Visitation for David will be held at Howard Funeral Home Wednesday, May 18, 2022, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Inurnment will be on Thursday at Higginsville Veteran Cemetery.

David Wayne Purdy was born August 15, 1936, the son of Ralph and Francis Purdy. David married the love of his life Barbara Desmond May 27, 1965, they had 57 wonderful years together. David service in the United States Marine Corp for three years and reserves for three years. He was in the military a total of 27 ½ years from active military to civil service. David enjoyed building things especially fiddles. He loved to watch the Royals and the Chiefs and being with his children and grandchildren. His fun, loving, adventurous personality will be forever missed.

David is preceded in death by his parents, brother Jim Purdy and sisters Linda and Dixie. He is survived by his loving wife Barbara, sons Timothy and James Purdy, sisters Judy and Joan, three grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and numerous friends.
