David Edward Shay

David Edward “Smokey” Shay, 43, of New Franklin passed away unexpectedly November 18, 2020.

A celebration of life bonfire will be held at the 17 Acres (23922 Gooches Mill Road Boonville, Missouri 65233) November 20, 2020 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.

David Edward Shay was born June 5, 1977 the son of Jimmy Dale and Geannie Shay. David graduated from Christian Fellowship School in 1996. He married Dusti Eaton on July 9, 2017. David enjoyed trapping and hunting, especially when he would hunt with his beloved hunting dogs. He also had lots of chickens and enjoyed just sitting and watching them. David also like to watch roller pigeons. He did anything outdoors and did not like to be couped up inside. David had an interest in MMA fights, he not only enjoyed watching them but also participated in them. He was 2-0 and decided to no longer fight but teach the sport. His favorite hobby was his kids, he loved them so very much. He enjoyed playing with them and teaching them new things, they were truly his pride and joy. He was loved by so many and will be missed by all.

David is preceded in death by Father Jimmy Dale Shay. He is survived by his wife Dusti (Eaton) Shay, children Brayden McFarland, Brennan Shay, Ella Eaton, Abri Shay, Alex Shay, Noah Szy, and Tora Shay, brothers Aaron (Jessica) Shay, Matt (Stephanie Blackwell) Shay, Richard (Melody) Vieth, sister Rebecca Shay and Rachel (John) Peck, sister in law Stacey Moore (Tim) Hendren, nieces and nephews Aarica, Cole, Caleb, Wyatt, and Jay Shay, Westlyn and Annabelle Peck, Jacob Vieth, Lilli Moore, Mattelynn, Will, and June Brickey, Cole Wright, Levi and Emma Hodge.
