David Wenger Obituary

David Leroy Wenger, 70, of Boonville passed away Thursday, February 18, 2021 at his home.

David was born April 21, 1950, the son of Albert and Rose Wenger. He graduated from Versailles High School before attending the University of Missouri where he received a bachelor’s degree in animal science. He was a member of the St. John’s United Church of Christ in Billingsville.

A proud career farmer, David was a successful feedlot manager in Cooper County. He loved to go on day trips, enjoyed going to auctions and antiquing; he particularly liked restoring cast iron.

David is preceded in death by his parents Albert and Rose Wenger. He is survived by his wife of 43 years Ginger Stanton Wenger, children Shawn Sprague of Joplin, MO, and his children Kira and Caleb; Michele Friedrich of Boonville, MO, and her children Austin and Arlan; Justin (Lauren) Wenger of Lexington, VA, and their children Aubrey, Madilyn, Colson, and Lincoln. He was the oldest of seven children and is survived by his siblings Karen (Ken) Gingrich of Omaha, NE, Linda (Reg) Ewert of Omaha, NE, Danny Wenger of Versailles, MO, Bob (Carla) Wenger of Versailles, MO, Ann (Dean) Loganbill of Versailles, MO, and Carol (Russel) Evans of Raymore, MO. Also surviving are two great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held in the spring on a date to be announced.
