De Lammers Obituary

De Lammers, 69, of Blackwater, passed away Sunday, November 14, 2021, at Boone Hospital.

Visitation for De will be held at Howard Funeral Home Monday, November 22, 2021 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. A celebration of life will begin at 11:00 a.m.

De (Johnson) Lammers was born September 13, 1952, in Marshall, the daughter of Virgil Johnson and Virginia Tanner. She graduated from Pilot Grove High School in 1970. She and her husband of 50 years, Danny Lammers, were married on February 20, 1971. She enjoyed time with family and friends, including her Tuesday morning coffee group, and she hosted countless family gatherings. She took pride in keeping an immaculate house, and her house cleaning business helped many others enjoy a fresh, comfortable home, but the role she loved most was that of grandmother. Her grandchildren will always remember her nurturing, generous love and the special activities Grandma thoughtfully planned.

De was a bright and beautiful human. She laughed a lot and was wildly funny. She knew how to tell a good story and how to laugh at herself and she did both daily. De had a gentle, open and kind presence. She made time for people, listened well, and accepted others as they were. Because of this, people felt at ease and loved around her.  De was a tremendous cook. She made countless light rolls in her Grandma Sarah’s metal mixing bowl and showed her love for people by feeding them. De noticed and found beauty in ordinary, simple things: warm coffee on her deck, autumn leaves, old country music and, of course, ice cream. She lived her life well.

De was preceded in death by her parents Virgil and Virginia, her brother Russ Johnson, and siblings Shelly Morrow and Richard Morrow. She is survived by her husband Danny, sons Greg (Katie) Lammers of Columbia, Matt (Michelle) Lammers of Ashland, grandchildren Henry Lammers, August Lammers, Taylar Nunley, Kat Nunley, and Tannon Nunley, and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Hometown Homecare.
