Donald “Don” Lee Marriott, 75, of Bunceton, Missouri passed away Thursday, November 9, 2023 at University of Missouri Hospital surrounded by his family.

A graveside for Don will be held Monday, November 13, 2023 at Mount Pleasant Cemetery beginning at 3:00 p.m. 

Donald Lee Marriott was born in Harrison, Arkansas on January 31, 1948 to Coy Lee and Dixie Dean (Rowland) Marriott. He grew up in many different towns but graduated high school in Springfield, Missouri at Glendale High School. Don joined the Navy shortly after graduation stationed on the USS- Yellowstone AD27. He met Debra K. Booth after his mother suggested Debra write him. They had a pen-pal romance that later resulted in their marriage on August 14, 1970. Don worked as a tool and die maker, just like his father Coy had. He would also go on to own his own businesses specializing in tool and die making but also drilled oil wells as well as being a truck driver. Always a talented mathematically and mechanically minded man, he could make complex issues seem easy to tackle. Don and his wife had five children.

Don is proceeded in death by his father Coy L. Marriott. He is survived by his wife, Debbie of the home, his mother, Dixie Marriott of Mountain Home, Arkansas, his sister Colleen Ivie of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, daughter Cynthia “Cindy” (Joe) Rybak of Angleton, Texas, son Collin (Sarah) Marriott of Liberty, Missouri, daughter Cassandra “Cassie” (Andrew) Bail of Mexico, Missouri, daughter Charity (Branden) Branstetter of Cape Canaveral, Florida, and daughter Celia Marriott (Jordan Hulbert) of Bunceton, Missouri. He also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends all over the world.

He will be remembered by all as a very smart man who could imagine and build anything he decided to build.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask memorial contributions to Howard Funeral Home to help with final expenses.
