Dorotha Fay (Burkhart) Tonnar

Dorotha Fay Tonnar, 75, Blackwater passed away Tuesday morning January 7, 2020 at Lakeview Healthcare center in Boonville.

Visitation for Dorotha will be 12 to 2 P.M. Saturday January 11, 2020 at River of Life Church, funeral services will follow at 2 P.M. with Rev. Larry Fencl and Rev. Dean Myers officiating.

Dorotha Fay Tonnar was born December 31, 1944 in Brunswick, MO., the daughter of George Burkhart and Dorothy Brokhert. She married Michael Tonnar on January 20, 1962 in Carrolton, MO., and they were blessed with six children. Dorotha loved to quilt and go bowling. She had heart for serving the Lord and was a member of the River of Life Church. Dorotha had a heart of gold and would give the shirt of her back to anyone that needed it. She never met a stranger.  She loved helping the handicapped and took care of them for over 26 years. Her heart was complete spending time with her family, especially the grandkids.

Dorotha is preceded in death by her parents, George and Dorothy, sisters, Betty Zumbrunnen and Alice Adams. She is survived by her husband, Michael of the home, Sons, William (Teresa) Tonnar of Corder, MO., Matthew (Janet) Tonnar of Higginsville, MO., daughters, Terri (Dean) Myers of St. Claresville, OH., Melissa (Danny) Arnold of Carrolton, MO., Melinda (Richard) Hazel of Boonville, MO., Tabitha (Matthew) Brown of Boonville, MO., brothers, George Burkhart of Moberly, MO and Claude (Joyce) Burkhart of Hannibal, MO. She will dearly missed by her 20 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
