Dr. Harold Kent Hombs, 87, Boonville passed away Tuesday morning February 4, 2020 at Riverdell Care Center in Boonville.
Visitation for Dr. Hombs will be Saturday, February 8 from 9:30 to 11 A.M. at the First Baptist Church of Boonville, with funeral services following at 11 A.M. Burial will follow the Bethlehem Cemetery in Harrisburg, MO.
Dr. Harold Kent Hombs was born October 2, 1932 in Harrisburg, MO., the son of Roland Hombs and Mary Lou Hazard Hombs. Dr. Hombs graduated from Harrisburg High School in 1950. He married Nancy Green on December 11, 1954 in Houston, TX. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force for 11 years as a navigator on B52 bombers. Dr. Hombs practiced Dentistry for 40 years here in Boonville, over those 40 years he made a lot of friends and their smiles a lot brighter! After retirement, he taught at State Fair Community College Dental Hygiene School. In his spare time, he loved to farm, he was very involved in church, he served as a deacon and taught Sunday school at the First Baptist Church. He served on the Boonville School board for nine years and was also on the board of the Cooper County Public Health Department. Most of all Doc loved his family and loved to spoil the grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Mary Lou, a sister, Doris Claxton and son, Chris Hombs. He is survived by his wife Nancy of Boonville, MO., sons, Dennis (Karen) Hombs of Boonville, MO., and Charlton (DeNea) Hombs of Chesterfield, MO. He will be missed by his grandchildren, Neil (Shannan) Hombs, Paige (Danny) Kircher, Sydney Hombs and Paxton Hombs, his great-grandchildren, Britton Kircher, Cane Kircher and Dalton Hombs.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the First Baptist Church or Bethlehem Cemetery.
