Edward “Ed” Fahrendorf, 89, of Blackwater, MO passed away Monday morning August 16, 2021, at Katy Manor Nursing Home in Pilot Grove.
Visitation for Ed will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday evening August 18th at S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Boonville, MO with a rosary being said at 5:45 PM. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, August 19th also at S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Edward John Fahrendorf was born March 7, 1932 in Cooper County, MO, the son of Barney Fahrendorf and Rose (Franken) Fahrendorf. He married Mary Jane Bonen on May 11, 1954 at S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Boonville. Ed helped his wife Mary Jane run their family business, Fahrendorf Supply, in Blackwater from 1960 until 2003. He farmed for many years with his son on the family farm. He loved to tinker around with things, gardening, fishing, mowing the yard and running the vacuum. Ed will be remembered for taking the occasional nap in his pickup truck in the front yard under a shade tree. He was a woodworking leader for the local 4H chapter and enjoyed the art of woodworking. He was very involved in the Blackwater Fire Department and served on their board for many years. He always had a good story or joke to tell. He attended S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Boonville and later attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pilot Grove.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents Barney and Rose Fahrendorf, brothers Frank, John, Joseph and Aloysious Fahrendorf, and sisters Louise Miller, Emma Twenter, and Marie Kauffman. He is survived by his son, Eddie Jr of Blackwater, daughter Nancy (David) Watring of Blackwater, sister-in-laws, Mary Fahrendorf, Judy Acton, Dorothy Imhoff, Wilma Bonen and Mona Schuster. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Brian (Amanda) Fahrendorf, Leighanne Fahrendorf, Mandy (Peter) Thaller, Corey (Anna) Watring, Tanner (Whitney) Fahrendorf and great grandchildren, Bradyn Fahrendorf, Chandler Fahrendorf, Hadley Fahrendorf, Bryan Gibbon, Sarah Gibbon, Dixie Thaller, Charlie Thaller, Madison Watring and Izaya Price as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial contributions are suggested to S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church or St. Joseph Catholic Church.
