Elizabeth J. “Betsy” Rugen, 63, of Prairie Home passed away Saturday evening December 26, 2020 at the Villas in Columbia, MO.
Visitation for Betsy will be 10 to 11 A.M. Wednesday, December 30 at Howard Funeral Home. Funeral Service will follow at 11 A.M. with Shawn Dumsday officiating. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Elizabeth Janine Rugen was born July 27, 1957 in Cabool, MO., the daughter of Boyd Kent “Bud” Lawrence and Betty Darlene McCall Lawrence. She married Lewis Leonard Rugen May 27, 1978 in Harrison, AR. She loved to do crafts, flower arrangements and traveling. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Prairie Home. Betsy was a lifelong teacher and concluded her career in Jamestown Schools. She loved her family and could not wait to spend time with them.
Betsy is preceded in death by her parents, Bud, and Darlene. She is survived by her husband, Leonard of the home, Sons, Andy (Kirby) Rugen of Blackwater, Ben Rugen of Prairie Home, Tim (Josie) Rugen of Boonville. Also surviving is her brother, Boyd Franklin “Frank” (Cindy) Lawrence of Harrison, AR., Her grandchildren, Cooper, Mason and Aida, Nephews, Chase, and Robert Lawrence. She also leaves behind many aunts, uncles and cousins.
