Ewing was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Prairie Home where he served as a deacon and Sunday School Director for many years. He was active in community organizations and was board member of several, including Prairie Home Civic Club, Prairie Home Fire Association, Prairie Home School Board, and the Prairie Home Fair.

Ewing worked hard all of his life and dedicated himself to family, community, and church. He loved being around people talking and telling funny stories. He loved to travel when he had time and opportunity and he never lost his love of motorcycles.
His family loved him so much and will miss him and the endless stories about the people and events of Prairie Home and surrounding communities.
