Franklin D. Potter was born December 16, 1934, in Lupus, MO., the son of Thomas H Potter and Martha (Lula) Kubli Potter. Frank attended a one room rural school near Lupus. He worked on the family farm from a young age and his dad had him driving a truck around the farm to help the older brothers. The sheriff caught Frank near California, MO., driving a truck and told him he could not do that since he was only 15. He said, “I’m sorry, sir, but that’s my brother T.H., I’m 13.”
On June 1, 1953, he married Shirley Mae Edwards in Kansas City, MO. They made their home in Prairie Home, MO., later moving to Boonville. He and Shirley were married for 67 years. During those years Frank ran his own trucking company for over 50 years and he served in the National Guard. He loved spending time at his homes in Boonville, Lake of the Ozarks, and Florida. He always had a love for trucks, cars, boats, and water. He liked to play card games, especially pitch, with his family and many friends.
Frank is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Lula Potter, wife, Shirley Potter, son, Danny Potter, brothers, Wilbur Potter, T.H. Potter, sisters, Viola Kautsch, Irene Ash, and Catherine Cassil.
Frank is survived by his son, Randy (Lynn) Potter of Wooldridge, daughter-in-law, Mary Anne Potter of Boonville, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and his beloved Pug, Charley.
