Jack Layne Baslee 80, of Boonville, passed away Wednesday August 26, 2020 at Boone Hospital Center, Columbia Missouri following an accident August 12, 2020.
Visitation for Jack will be 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Saturday August 29 at Howard Funeral Home, with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 P.M. with Doug Weekley officiating. Burial will follow on the Pilot Grove City Cemetery.
He was born March 16, 1940 in Boonville Missouri. Jack was the son of Robert and Ann Newbauer Baslee. On January 5, 1979 Jack was united in marriage to Sharon Pope who survives of the home.
Jack was a 1959 graduate of Boonville High School. He was a life-long farmer and well known in the Pilot Grove and Boonville areas. He was a “collector" of old tractors and lived on the family century farm where he loved to deer hunt with family. Jack enjoyed visiting with friends and family and he was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand whenever asked. Jack was a very kind and compassionate person to everyone he met, and he will be greatly missed by All.
Jack is survived by two brothers, Clay (Alvera) Baslee of Boonville, Wayne (Wilma) Baslee of Sedalia, one sister Jean Wilkinson and one step daughter, Moyne White, one brother-in-law Jim Pope of Owasso, Oklahoma and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister Kay Barnes, and one brother Paul Baslee.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Pilot Grove City Cemetery.
