James 'Jim" Roy Lawrence

James “Jim” Roy Lawrence, 79, of Boonville, Missouri passed away surrounded by his family Thursday, February 23, 2023 at his home.

Visitation for James will be held at Howard Funeral Home Tuesday, February 28, 2023, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. Funeral service will begin at 5:00 p.m. with Pastor Tim Fairley officiating. Per Jim’s wishes, he will be cremated following the service.

James Roy Lawrence was born May 20, 1943, in Pittsburg, TX, the son of Erastus Lawrence and Cleo Tinsley.  Jim married Dawn Brosig November 1, 1991, in Boone County.  He was a first Lieutenant Army Vietnam Veteran. Jim owned and operated Old Town Ice Company in Lake of the Pines, Texas. After moving to Boonville, he taught business classes at Boonville Correctional Facility and was owner of AA Air and Heating.  Jim enjoyed hunting and watching the Dallas Cowboys, he was a fan and that is all he talked about. Jim was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

James is preceded in death by his parents Erastus Lawrence and Cleo Tinsley. He is survived by his wife Dawn Lawrence of Boonville, children Jamie Lawrence Cooper of Columbia, MO, Monica (Brandon) Byrd of Arkansas, James “Jay” Lawrence of Alabama, and Jessica Lawrence of Wyoming, step son Joshua (Niki) Cooper of Texas. He also leaves behind grandchildren Dylan Cooper, Suzanna Tag, Caroline Byrd, Ava Cooper, and Cyrus Lawrence.
