Joel Jackson Terrell Jr., 94, of Boonville passed away at home on Sunday evening, June 4, 2023. The family will receive friends at Howard Funeral Home on Friday, June 9th from 1:00 to 2:00 with graveside services following at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Joel Jackson Terrell Jr (Jack) was born April 30, 1929, in Sulphur Springs, MO, the son of Joel Jackson Terrell, Sr and Dollie Mae Burns Terrell. He married Erma N. Richardson April 19, 1948, in Boonville, MO and they are the parents of three children. Jack and Erma owned Plaza Liquor Store for 45 years until he retired at age 87. Jack loved to fish and spend time at the lake whenever possible. He was known for always having a colorful story to tell, and for the deep love he had for Erma.
Jack proudly served his country as a US veteran, demonstrating unwavering dedication and sacrifice. His service will always be remembered, as he bravely defended the values he held dear.
Beyond his military service, Jack was a loving father and a devoted family man. Jack was preceded in death by his loving wife and brothers James Terrell and Roy Terrell. He is survived by three sons Robert (Sharon) Terrell of Kansas City, Marvin Terrell of Boonville, and Joel III “Jack” (Jennifer) Terrell of Boonville, brothers; Charles Terrell of Boonville and Lynn Terrell of New Franklin. His loving grandchildren Robert Dale Terrell Jr., Lisa Terrell, Whitney Ray, Joel Terrell IV and Victoria Terrell also survive, as well as seven great grandchildren.
