John Joseph Imhoff, Sr., 90, of Blackwater passed away Thursday morning Nov. 2 at Ashley Manor Care Center in Boonville.
Visitation for John will be 6-8 pm Monday evening Nov. 6 at S.S Peter and Paul Catholic Church with a rosary being recited at 5:30pm. Mass of Christian burial will be 10am Tuesday morning Nov. 7 at S.S Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Fr. Bill Peckman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors. Arrangements under the direction of Howard Funeral Home.
John Joseph Imhoff, Sr. was born November 14, 1926 in Pilot Grove, Mo. the son of Louis “Doc” Imhoff and Sophia Schmitt Imhoff. John married Dorothy Bonen on May 4, 1948 at St. Martins Catholic Church. He was a lifelong farmer in the Blackwater area, farming was his life and passion. He loved to hunt, fish and play cards in his spare time. He was a member of S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and the American Legion. More than anything John loved his family.
John was preceded in death by his parents Louis “Doc” and Sophia, three brothers Patrick Imhoff, Frank Imhoff, Louis “Jake” Imhoff, five sisters Margaret Claas, Bertha Gerling, Anna Mae Bentlage, Mary Helen Schuster, Clarabelle “Tooter” Knipp and one grandchild Kyle Jeffrey Imhoff. He is survived by his wife Dorothy, his three sons Norbert Leo (Marica) Imhoff of Blackwater, Roger Wayne (Stephanie) Imhoff of Pilot Grove, John Joseph (Beverly) Imhoff Jr. of Blackwater, one daughter Peggy Jean (Scotty) Fenical of Boonville, grandchildren Nicholas (Traci) Imhoff, Adam (Amy) Imhoff, Alicia (Greg) Haslag, Eric ( Cindy) Imhoff, Efrem Imhoff, Kelsey (Ducky) Fenical, Travis (Kayla) Fenical, Aaron (Lindsey) Imhoff, Jacob Imhoff, Justin (Karyn) Fenical, and 17 great grandchildren and one on the way.
