John Cortes Tincher, 88, of Boonville passed away Monday, November 27, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis. Per John’s request, no services will be held. He will be laid to rest at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
John was born October 22, 1935, the son of Joseph and Ruby (Powell) Tincher. He attended Boonville High School and the University of Missouri where he graduated with a bachelors degree in education in 1957 and a masters degree in education administration in 1962. John worked at Pilot Grove High School teaching math and science from 1957 to 1961. He then went to work as an assistant to the superintendent of Kansas City School District where he worked for 30 years until his retirement in 1992. After retirement, he owned and operated his own real estate rental business. John was an active member of the Nelson Memorial United Methodist Church. He enjoyed being with friends, going out to eat, taking his beloved dog Guy on car rides, listening to music, and getting his Boonville High School Class of 1953 together every year for a reunion. John was a very detail oriented, organized businessman who was loved by everyone he met and will be dearly missed.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Ruby Tincher, and infant sister Amy Josephine Tincher. He is survived by his numerous friends and people he considered family.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Boonville Animal Shelter in care of Howard Funeral Home.
