John Alvin “Johnny” Craig, 69, of Pilot Grove, Missouri passed away Sunday August 29, 2021, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.
Visitation for Johnny will be at Howard Funeral Home Thursday, September 2, 2021, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at Howard Funeral Home Friday, September 3, 2021, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment will be at a later date.
John Alvin “Johnny” Craig was born November 28, 1951, the son of John Austin Craig and Margaret Edna (Ash) Craig. Johnny married the love of his life Mary Margaret Samer August 11, 1978, in Boonville, Missouri. Johnny was a over the road truck driver all his life and truly enjoyed the trips he took. He enjoyed working on his truck and telling the kids stories. Johnny loved to give Mary a hard time but also love the time he spent with her and the family. His family was always his top priority. Johnny loved to ride his motorcycle; it was always good wind therapy. Johnny lived life to the fullest, he always had a good sense of humor, a good story to tell and would help anyone who needed it.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother Ricky Craig and grandson Jordan Craig. He is survived by his wife Mary Margaret Craig of Pilot Grove, son Kurtis (Danelle) Craig of Boonville, daughters Kim (Jeff) Schaefer of Glasgow, Hannah (Tyrone Jackson) Gerke of Boonville, and EvaLena (Eugene) Johnson of Boonville, brothers Steve (Becky) Craig of New Franklin and Bill Craig of Bunceton, sister Becky Jo (Leonard) Arnold of Warsaw, grandchildren Ryan and Kaleigh Schafer, Daniel and Kailynn Craig, Evan, Maggie, Aden, and Gracie Gerke, Keon, Trenton, and Easton Johnson and numerous nieces and nephews.
