Joyce Ruth Schwartz, 89, of Boonville passed away Monday, May 16, 2022, at her home.
Visitation for Joyce will be Saturday, May 21, 2022, at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m. Rosary will be recited at 12:45 p.m. with mass of Christian burial to follow at 1:00 p.m. with Father Mark Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Joyce Ruth Schwartz was born September 8, 1932, the daughter of Arthur Birch and Beulah Elizabeth (Mauk) Pulis. Joyce married the love of her life, Jacob Norman Schwartz, August 18, 1962, in the New Hope Baptist Church, Audrain County, on Possum Walk Road, near Centralia Missouri with her brother Wesley as best man and sister-in-law Donna as matron of honor. Joyce grew up in Centralia, Missouri and lived in that area until moving to Independence in 1965, Oak Grove in 1972, and Boonville in 1996 to the Schwartz family farm. She is a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church and was active in the Ladies bible study and Daughters of Isabela. She worked at Wilcox Electric in Kansas City for 27 years as a Senior Technical Illustrator/ Draftsman. Joyce was an artist and enjoyed painting landscapes and portraits; she enjoyed gardening, quilting, sewing, reading, crocheting, and cooking. Joyce volunteered at the Cooper County Memorial Hospital in Boonville with the CCMH Volunteer Auxiliary. Her loving personality will be forever missed.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, husband Norman Schwartz, sisters Lois Blair, Lola Slater, and Marylan Hope Pulis, and grandson Danny McCartney. She is survived by her son Allen (Cheri) Wyatt of Independence, daughters Linda (Dennis) Winkler of Independence, Pam (Wyatt) Morris of Independence and Norma Joy (Tom) Otsubo of Oak Grove, brothers Steven Wesley (Donna) Pulis, and Earl (Winona) Pulis and sister Patsy (Doyne) Hunter all of Centralia, and close friends Betty Ann (Schwartz) Sandbothe and Adrienne Fairley. She also leaves behind grandchildren Noah Frazier, Matt Wyatt, Adam Frazier, Amanda Hayward, Jacob (Corissa) Hayward, Kalena (Ben) Mitchell, Caleb Otsubo, and Michael Otsubo, great grandchildren Isiah and Landen Davis, Allie Hayward, Kailynn Pyle, Mason and Addison Hayward and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
