Juanita Joan (Amick) Toennes

Juanita Joan Toennes, age 85, of Arizona, originally from Boonville, passed away on April 2, 2025, in Green Valley, Arizona. She was born on June 8, 1939, in Boonville, Missouri, the daughter of Paul and Minnie (Becker) Amick.

She was a 1957 graduate of Boonville High School and graduated from Business School in Kansas City, Missouri. 

She married Gene Toennes on April 1, 1966 in Boonville, Missouri. 

Juanita was employed at Toastmaster in Boonville until they moved to Green Valley, Arizona in 1981. She then worked as an Office Manager for Pueblo Estates until her retirement. 

She enjoyed embroidering, and watching game shows, and loved traveling. 

She will be fondly remembered and truly missed by her daughters: Kelly (Lance) Peeples of St. Charles, Missouri, Sherri (Bill) Filter of Albuquerque, New Mexico; grandson Tristan Filter of
Wichita, KS; sister Jeanette Amick-Schwab of Waco, Texas; brothers: Paul LeRoy Amick and Maurice Amick both of Boonville; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by
her husband and parents.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at Clarks Chapel Cemetery in Franklin, Missouri. 

Memorials are suggested to: Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, Florida 33607.
