June N. Hays, 94, of Columbia formerly of Boonville, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2023 at the Neighborhoods in Columbia, MO.
Visitation for June will be 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 11 at Howard Funeral Home, funeral services following with Pastor Randy Richards officiating. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
June Nadine Hays was born in Spring Fork, MO., on Friday February 2, 1928 to J.R Frisbie and Gladys Lorene Lutman Frisbie. She lived in Windsor and Smithton before moving to Boonville. She graduated from Boonville High School in 1945. In July of 1948 she married Pat Hays at S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Boonville. They were the parents of two daughters. Over the years she worked in several places in Boonville, Columbia, and Houstonia. The job she enjoyed most was being a wife and mom. She enjoyed dancing, weekends at the Lake of the Ozarks with family and friends, family picnics, playing cards, crossword and jigsaw puzzles. Later when the kids were grown she and Pat enjoyed a month in Florida during each winter.
She enjoyed raising and being involved with their two daughter’s lives. She was overjoyed when each of the four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren came along.
June was preceded in death by her parents, J.R and Gladys, husband Pat and brother in law, Earl Worthley. She is survived by her daughters, Pam (James) Lenz of Bunceton and Marcia Coley of Columbia, sister, Betty Worthley of Raytown. Also surviving are her grandsons, Curt (Lindsay) Lenz, Ross (Hollie) Coley, Brian (Kerri) Coley, granddaughter, Katie (Garett) Richards, Great-Grandchildren, Jackson Coley, Carter Coley, Mable Preston-Coley, Xander Preston-Coley, Quincy Richards, Emmett Richards and Julie Matheny.
