Kyle Baker Obituary

Kyle Ashley Baker, age 50, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on September 6, 2022, with his family by his side.

Kyle was born March 14, 1972, in Salem, AR to Sherman and Reva Baker.  He spent his youth in Thayer, MO, and lived his final years in Boonville, MO.  In 1990, he graduated from Thayer High School at the top of his class as valedictorian.  He earned his Associates of Science degree in 1992 in Mathematics, with a minor in music from Hillsdale Bible college in Moore, OK.  His experience at the Bible College earned him many life-long and dear friends.  In 1995, Kyle graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and earned his piolets license from the University of Oklahoma, where he became an avid and proud Sooner.  During his senior year at OU, he met his wife, Cara.

From an early age, Kyle developed a passion and love for music.  He was an accomplished pianist and had a beautiful singing voice.  Kyle served his lifetime as worship leader in his church using his gifts and talents to serve his Lord.  He passed his joy of music to his children.  How he loved family times when they would worship and make music together.

Kyle married Cara Lee Brown on July 26, 1997, in the First Baptist Church of Norman, OK.  They celebrated 25 years of a beautiful and loving marriage.  They were blessed with four wonderful children Ryan, Riley, Grady, and Emily, all of which he loved so dearly and was so very proud.  He loved watching them grow and never missed an opportunity to tell of their accomplishments or share a humorous story.  He loved to watch and cheer and support his kids in whatever sports or activities they were involved in and spending family time at the lake.  Kyle was so proud of his family and was overjoyed with the recent addition of his first granddaughter, Everlee Grace.

Kyle worked for State Farm for over 24 years while leading a variety of teams across Underwriting.  In his most recent role, he served as a Learning Manager with the privilege of working with and earning the respect and friendship of coworkers across the nation.

Kyle made a positive impact on all who knew him.  He was motivated, kind spirited, and had a creative mindset.  He was clever and quick witted with an undeniable sense of humor.  All who knew him feel the impact of his loss as Kyle’s friendship, optimism, and sense of humor will be missed more than words can express.

We have all been so blessed to have known Kyle.  We miss him, and we will continue to miss him.  But, today, Kyle is with Jesus, his Lord and his Savior.  His faith is now whole.
