Linda Kay (Gilpin) Brown was born February 18, 1947, the daughter of Albert Vincel Gilpin and Dorothy Lee (Neal) Gilpin. She married V. Leroy Brown April 7, 1963. Linda worked at Walmart for 15 years. Linda loved blue grass gospel music, she would even host groups that came to town at her home. Linda would prepare for them to come and made sure to have all their favorite things, the most recent group was Alan Sibley and the Magnolia Ramblers (featured on RFD TV). Linda was the same way with her family, she loved them unconditionally and would do absolutely anything for them. Linda was always quiet but had a welcoming personality that made everyone comfortable and feel welcome. She was loved and will be so dearly missed.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents, husband V. Leroy Brown, daughter Carol Brown, brothers Charles, Bobby, Leon, Harold, and Richard Gilpin, sisters Stella Wheeler, Gail Chipley, Margie Thurmond, and Romell Swindler. She is survived by her daughters Christina (Tim) Sherwood of Grass Lake, Michigan, and Dawn (Kevin) Lammers of Boonville, Missouri, sister Brenda (Marvin) Snyder of Boonville, and brother Rodger Gilpin of Columbia. She also leaves behind grandchildren Timothy and Tyler Sherwood of Michigan, Garrett, Jessica, Lindsey Lammers of Boonville and great grandchildren Blake and Brody Sherwood and her beloved dog Sammie.
