Linda Lee Carey, 79, of Troy, Missouri passed away surrounded by her family Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at her home.
Visitation for Linda will be at Howard Funeral Home Monday, November 7, 2022, from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. Funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Tim Fairley officiating. Burial will follow in Bunceton Masonic Cemetery.
Linda Lee Carey was born November 5, 1942, the daughter of Warren Claude and Jessie Francis (Daniel) Morris. She graduated from Bunceton High School in 1960. Linda married the love of her life David Carey August 5, 1961, in Bunceton, Missouri. After graduating high school, she and David had four beautiful children and after raising them, Linda obtained her Practical Nursing degree. She then went back to school and obtained her Associates Degree in Nursing and became a Registered Nurse. Her favorite and final job as a nurse was with the Winfield School District as the school nurse. Linda loved to be with her children and grandchildren, she was happiest when all her family was together. She also loved to play cards and board games, she was always quiet but tricky when she played and would always laugh and have so much fun. Linda loved to be outside and look at the flowers and watch the hummingbirds. Her kind, fun, loving personality will be forever missed.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents, and sons Jeffrey and Michael Carey. She is survived by her husband David Carey of Troy, Missouri, daughters Anna (Brent) Kahle of Boonville, and Amy (Lee) Elliott of Troy, Missouri, daughter-in-law Lisa Carey of O’Fallon, Missouri, and brothers Claude Daniel (Teri) Morris of Round Rock, Texas and Francis Gilpin (Patricia) Morris of Council Bluffs, Iowa. She also leaves behind grandchildren Kayla (David) Vest, Erica (Jason) Thurman, Julia Kahle, Jenna Kahle, Justin Carey, Amanda (Robbie) Wood, David Carey, Andrew Thomas, and Elena Elliott, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Bunceton Masonic Cemetery.
